Pierre Benz is a PhD Student in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Cape Town. He works under the supervision of Prof. Edwin Blake,

Research Project / Interests:

His dissertation investigates how identity-management theory shapes the way we design interactive sharing technologies when we come together (with our mobile devices). To do this, he's designing an interaction sharing framework that supports hyper-localised, ad-hoc instantiations of the cloud on mobile devices, as a means of exploring and understanding the social implications, interaction metaphors and mechanics that accommodate the presentation of self when engaging in co-located sharing.
