Research Project / Interests:

Ubiquitous Wireless Mesh networking: application to drought mitigation and mobile communication in a rural context

There are all these applications and services one might want to provide to rural communities but, he asks the question, is the infrastructure needed to support the services there? He already has the answer to that question. That should mean he is half way through with his thesis but, not quite.

His work focuses on finding out how best to adapt existing infrastructure to support new services without disrupting the primarily operations for which the infrastructure was originally set up for and at the same time without requiring significant capital investments. Particularly, he is interested in the concepts of inverse-infrastructure and infrastructure-less networking and how these can be applied to deliver services such as mobile voice communication to rural and under-served communities.

Other interests:   in his spare time he  plays guitar but, he is not very good at it. He also enjoys cooking, plays chess and practices martial art.
